OEM plush toy manufacturing: your design, produced to your approved sample
Key points
• OEM here means one clear split: the design is yours and already final — artwork, colours and size are decided — and Guaila Toys handles pattern making, sampling and bulk production in Dongguan.
• Sampling takes 10–15 working days. The fee is assessed from your artwork (starting from ¥500) and covers pattern making, up to 3 revision rounds, and 1 final prototype.
• Export orders start at 500 pieces per design, with 300 possible for simpler designs. Quantity is counted per design, per colourway and per size.
• Bulk production follows the prototype you approved, piece by piece. Standard orders run about 30–60 days; orders of 50,000 pieces and up run 45–60 days.
• Prices are quoted EXW, tax excluded. Export payment is 50% deposit and 50% before shipment.

What "OEM" covers on this page — and what it does not

This page is for buyers who arrive with a finished design: a character that is already drawn, a mascot that is already approved, a plush line that is already selling in another form. Our job starts at the pattern desk, not the drawing board.

If your design is still a sketch or an idea that needs development work first, that is ODM rather than OEM — a different starting point. A dedicated page on our ODM development service is planned; until it is published, the page for IP creators and independent brands is the closest description of how we work from early artwork, and the sampling steps there join up with the ones below once the design is final.

What you supply

• The final artwork: an illustration, design file, or a clear photo of an existing handmade or produced version.
• The target size in cm, and the quantity per design, colourway and size.
• Any construction requirements that are already fixed on your side — for example a hanging loop, a specific filling feel, or packaging that the product must fit.
What you do not need to supply: a sewing pattern or a tech pack written for plush. Turning artwork into cut panels, seam placement and stuffing structure is our part of the work, and it is covered by the sampling fee.

Sampling: the design becomes a physical reference (10–15 working days)

We draft the pattern from your artwork and sew the first prototype. Details that cannot be sewn as drawn are flagged at this stage — a printed gradient that has to become layered fabric, a tail too thin to stuff at your size — with the closest workable version proposed, before bulk production is anywhere near starting.
Up to 3 revision rounds are included, and the stage ends with 1 final prototype. When a single design reaches a 500-piece bulk order, the sampling fee is credited against that order. If you need the physical sample in hand, overseas sample freight is prepaid by the buyer.
The prototype you approve at the end of this stage is the reference unit for the whole order. Bulk production copies it; it does not copy the artwork file.

Quantity, counted the way production counts it

The 500-piece starting point is per design. A second colourway is a second count, and a second size is a second count, because each one needs its own pattern work and its own production run. Simpler designs can start at 300 pieces on the same counting basis. Cotton dolls follow a different starting point (from 100 pieces) and are covered on the cotton dolls page and in the MOQ & Sampling Guide, which carries the full breakdown.

Bulk production and checking

Production runs about 30–60 days for standard orders, depending on quantity and complexity; very large orders of 50,000 pieces and up run 45–60 days. Materials, construction and face placement follow the approved prototype.
Before packing, finished pieces are checked against that prototype: size, face placement, seams, stuffing, and the details you signed off. Pieces that do not match are pulled and corrected before cartons are sealed. If you plan to send your own inspector, say so at the quotation stage so it can be scheduled into the run.

Custom logo and packaging

Custom logo and packaging are available as part of an OEM order, as stated on our product catalog page. What is confirmed here is the availability; the specific method and format are confirmed per project at quotation, because the workable options depend on the product, its materials and the order quantity. State your logo and packaging requirements in the enquiry, and the quotation will cover them as part of the order specification.

Commercial terms, stated once

• Quotation basis: EXW Dongguan, tax excluded. Freight is the buyer's; we can introduce a freight forwarder we work with. • Payment: 50% deposit to start bulk production, balance settled before shipment. • Safety documents: provided and coordinated per project and target market, as set out on the Safety Testing & Documents page. Tell us the destination market when you enquire, so the document check happens before sampling, not after production.

A worked example — one finished character, 500 pieces

A buyer with a finished character design orders one size at 20 cm, 500 pieces.
• Artwork review: the evaluation confirms the design can be sewn as drawn except for one ear detail, which moves from print to embroidery. The sampling fee is quoted from the artwork. • Sampling: inside 10–15 working days the prototype is sewn; one revision round adjusts the embroidery spacing. The buyer approves the final prototype, and the sampling fee is credited because the order reaches 500 pieces. • Bulk: the deposit starts production. The run finishes inside the 30–60 day range, finished pieces are checked against the approved prototype, the balance is settled, and the cartons go EXW to the buyer's forwarder.
A repeat order of the same design skips sampling entirely — the approved prototype and its pattern are already on file.

Questions buyers ask us

My design is final, but I have no pattern or tech pack. Can you still quote?
Yes. Send the artwork, target size and quantity; pattern making is part of sampling, and the sampling fee is assessed from the artwork itself.
Can one order mix three colourways at 200 pieces each?
Each colourway counts separately, so 200 per colourway sits below the 300-piece floor for simpler designs. The usual fix is to raise the lead colourway first, or simplify where the design allows — tell us the breakdown in your enquiry and we will reply with the workable version.
Do you work from a sample I already had made elsewhere?
Yes — a clear photo or the physical piece can serve as the starting reference. We still run our own sampling stage, because bulk production needs a prototype sewn and approved through our pattern.
Next step
Next step — Use the Product Information form on this page. It asks for a product name, a target size in cm, the quantity per design, your contact details, and a reference image: upload your final artwork there, and add your destination country and target date in the requirements field if you have them. That is enough for us to run the artwork review and reply with the sampling fee for your design.
